On the occasion of the Lunar New Year in the year of the Dragon 1736, Mac Thien Tich opened a poetry festival and set up a Taoist flag. That is the historic New Year of Ha Tien because it witnessed the birth of the first Tao Dan in the South and also the second Tao Dan in the nation’s cultural history, marking a very important development step in the cultural and literary life of Dang Trong. Those are the only remaining lines of prose by the Mac poet, evidence of the circumstances and birth of Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac.
This is a literary Tao Dan with great cultural and historical value founded by the Governor, poet Mac Thien Tich on the first full moon of the year Binh Thin 1736, and is considered the largest literary Tao Dan of the whole country, just behind the Hong Duc Tao Dan of King Le Thanh Tong at that time.

The Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac Festival is solemnly held from the 13th to the full moon day of the first lunar month every year, an opportunity for tens of thousands of people from all neighboring provinces and local people to gather to show their sincere gratitude to the “Opening the town of Thuong Tru Quoc, General Vu Nghi Cong” Mac Cuu. He made a breakthrough, rallied the people, built 7 communes and villages, encouraged and supported agricultural tools for people to reclaim land for cultivation, organized business and trade to collect flowers, and at the same time organized trade with foreign countries to build a rich land of Ha Tien, the market street was gradually expanded.
Under the command of Mac Cuu and the protection of the Nguyen court, Ha Tien gradually became a trading area and an important trading port. In 1735, Mac Cuu fell ill and died. Mac Thien Tich – Mac Cuu’s eldest son was allowed by Lord Nguyen to continue his father’s career, holding the position of General of the Army, Grand Admiral of Ha Tien town. During Thien Tich’s rule, Ha Tien developed quite comprehensively in terms of politics, economy, culture and society. In the spring of the Year of the Dragon 1736, he organized a lantern festival to establish Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac, considered by cultural history researchers to be the second largest Tao Dan in the country in feudal times after King Le Thanh Tong’s Tao Dan and was the beginning of Southern literature.
