How to get to Lang Cat Rach Gia pagoda  

Lang Cat Pagoda Rach Gia is about 25km from Kien Giang and only 3.5km from Rach Gia center. Therefore, visitors can easily move to this temple according to the instructions below:   

Departing from Rach Gia center: Departing from the city center. From Rach Gia, follow Mac Cuu route to Nguyen Binh Khiem -> turn left at Kien Giang Tile Company -> turn to Tran Phu -> Ngo Quyen bridge -> at Phi Ngoc orchid garden -> turn to Ngo Quyen street -> turn right to reach Lang Cat pagoda. Travel time is about 10 minutes.

From Kien Giang: You can follow National Highway 63 and National Highway 61 for about 46 minutes to reach Lang Cat Pagoda. On the way, you can look up directions on Google Maps or ask people along the way.  

For those departing from Saigon or neighboring provinces, you can take a bus to Rach Gia, then rent a motorbike taxi or motorbike to go to Lang Cat Pagoda to visit Rach Gia.

Learn the history of Lang Cat Pagoda in Rach Gia 

Lang Cat Pagoda had a total of 31 generations of abbots and many different names. The pagoda was built in 1412, initially named Angkor Chum because the abbot was Cambodian. After that, the pagoda was renamed Lang Cat pagoda, because it is located on a large highland in the southeast of Rach Gia.  

In May 2009, Lang Cat pagoda, along with the Kien Giang Buddhist Association Provincial Executive Committee and the solidarity association of patriotic monks, organized the inauguration of the main hall. By 1997, the Management Board and Buddhists called for donations to contribute to the construction and by 2003, the foundation and foundations along with concrete columns were built. The land on which the pagoda was built was donated by singer Thuy Tien’s family and has the same appearance as it does today.

What is there to visit at Lang Cat Rach Gia Pagoda?
