Bai Buu, also known as Four Card Card Brag or Four Card Poker, is a popular card game in Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia. It’s a fast-paced and exciting game that combines elements of skill, luck, and bluffing.

The Basics of Bai Buu

The Deal

Each player is dealt four cards face down.

Betting Rounds

Ante Bet: Before the cards are dealt, each player places an ante bet.

Initial Bet: After receiving their cards, players have the option to:

  • Call: Match the initial bet.
  • Raise: Increase the bet.
  • Fold: Surrender their hand and forfeit the ante bet.

Showdown (Optional)

If multiple players remain after the betting rounds, they may choose to show their hands to determine the winner.

Hand Rankings

  • Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank (e.g., three Kings).
  • Straight Flush: Three consecutive cards of the same suit.
  • Flush: Three cards of the same suit.
  • Straight: Three consecutive cards of any suit.
  • Pair: Two cards of the same rank.
  • High Card: The highest single card determines the winner.
