The Basics of Baccarat

In Baccarat, players bet on the outcome of two hands: the “Player” hand and the “Banker” hand. The objective is to predict which hand will have a point total closest to nine.

• The Deal: Two cards are dealt face-up to both the Player and the Banker.
• Card Values
  • Face cards (Jacks, Queens, Kings)10s count as zero.
  • Aces count as one.
  • Number cards retain their face value.
• Calculating the Hand Total: Only the units digit of the total is considered. For example, if the cards total 14, the hand value is four.
• Third Card Rule: Depending on the initial two-card values, a third card may be drawn for the Player and/or the Banker according to a set of specific rules.
• Determining the Winner: The hand with a point total closest to nine wins.
• Betting Options: Players can place bets on the following outcomes
  • Player Hand: If the Player hand wins.
  • Banker Hand: If the Banker hand wins.
  • Tie: If both hands have the same point total.
